I am sorry about this whole America thing. What with the war and our idiot president and Rush Limbaugh and so many people killing the enviroment, not to mention such travisties as "The Real World" and "The Hills," you must think we Americans are a silly lot.
World, I am here to tell you not all of us are.
And those that voted in Bush probably regret it now. Because by now they'e realized how jam-packed with awesomeness he is not.
So, World, remember that there are some semi-intelligent Americans out there who are trying to do something.

Thanks very much for you kind remarks about my 'humor'.
Thanks also for this wonderful post that helps put America back into perspective. Living in France (but not being french) I am aware of the way France is regarded outside the country. This also means I am more accutely aware of the way that America is viewed by the rest of the world - ignorant, arrogant, wasteful, poluting, etc. thank-you for putting it back into perspective - some of you are caring and thoughtful. :-)
